The improvement of mining and processing techniques and the optimization of production costs have been the two key axes of OCP's industrial strategy throughout the two last years. Thus, the mining at layer 3 in Khouribga, the startup of the additional phosphate flotation washing units, the optimization of energy consumption for the drying of phosphate and the desalination of ocean water were the major challenges in 2007.
